Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of Jyotisha — Panditji ka Hindu Calendar (the Android app) and the website jyotishapath.in. By using the app you agree to them.
1. What the app is
Jyotisha calculates the panchang, birth charts, dasha periods, transits and Guna Milan compatibility using the traditional rules of Vedic astrology. Calculations are performed with the open-source VedAstro engine.
2. It is not advice
The app's content is offered for cultural, religious and entertainment purposes. It is not medical, legal, financial or psychological advice, and it is not a prediction or guarantee of any event. Do not make decisions about marriage, health, money or career on the basis of the app alone. For anything serious, consult a qualified professional.
All results are generated automatically by our server's astrology engine (API). No person reviews them individually, and we accept no responsibility for errors in them. Please verify anything important with a qualified astrologer.
Accuracy depends entirely on the birth time and place you enter. A difference of a few minutes can change the ascendant, nakshatra or dasha. Any reliance you place on the app's output is your own responsibility.
3. Your account
- An account is optional. If you create one, give a real email address and keep your password private; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- You must be 13 or older to use the app.
- You can delete your account at any time from within the app or by writing to support@jyotishapath.in.
4. Your content
The birth details, journal entries and reports you enter are yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to provide the service. Add another person's birth details only with their consent. We handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable use
Please do not misuse the app: do not flood the server or API with automated requests, try to access other people's accounts, interfere with the service, or use it to harass anyone.
6. Intellectual property
The app's design, name, mark and writing belong to Jyotisha. The astrological calculations are built on VedAstro (open source), used under its licence. Nobody owns the traditional knowledge of Jyotisha itself.
7. Price and advertising
The app is free and supported by advertising. Ads are served by third-party network SDKs (Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network); the content of ads is their responsibility, and what happens after you tap an ad is governed by that advertiser's terms. The data these SDKs collect is described in the Privacy Policy. If paid features are added in future, their terms and price will be shown clearly before you buy.
8. Availability and changes
We may change the app, add or remove features, or discontinue the service without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Before shutting the service down we will give reasonable notice so you can export your data.
9. No warranty; limitation of liability
The app is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Jyotisha is not liable for any direct, indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the app.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and Indian courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. If the law of your country gives you additional consumer rights, those are unaffected.
11. Changes to these terms
When we change these terms we update this page and the date below; significant changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
